Required Qualifications / Skills
A candidate must be a high school graduate or its equivalent, complete a recognized MA program at an accredited college or university, become certified within 90 days of hire, possess a functional working knowledge of medical terminology, demonstrate basic computer skills, excellent and dynamic people skills, excellent communication skills, bilingual, and professional confidence. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Greeting and escorting patients to the exam room
- Measuring and recording vitals
- Collecting and recording medical/medication histories
- Preparing patients for examination/procedure
- Performing phlebotomy services
- Ensuring efficient clinic patient flow
- Administering vaccinations
- Administering rapid testing (Covid, strep, flu)
- Demonstrating proficiency with EMR system
- Maintaining rooms, equipment, and supplies to uphold standard precautions
- Providing timely and direct communication with other clinicians regarding clinical findings and patient needs
- Answering telephones and radios
- Scheduling appointments
- Medical documentation
- Processing referrals and prior authorizations
- Registering patients, ensuring accuracy, collection, and scanning of proper documents, and all required registration steps are followed
- Operating equipment, such as wheelchairs, scales, AED, EKG, etc.
- Translation
Onsite training will be provided for all job responsibilities.
