Post Offer Employment Testing (POET) or Human Performance Exams (HPEs)

The least costly injury is the one that never occurs.  By incorporating our unique HPE [Human Performance Evalution] model (also known as POET) prior to starting a job, the employer can identify persons at risk for injury or circumvent someone being improperly assigned a job.  Our certified clinicians partner with employers to develop and execute a valid and reliable job-specific test than the employer can use to determine the physical abilities of a candidate.  Testing includes assessment of pushing, pulling, lifting, gripping, carrying, climbing, and crawling abilities. We can also perform nerve velocity testing to assess the presence of carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome or neuropathy.

Medical conditions could play a factor in a person’s ability to perform the essential functions of a job.  We ensure that our testing protocols take this into consideration, but do not discriminate or violate EEOC, ADA or other state and federal laws.  Our detailed and task-specific tests are valid and consistent with your companies needs, right down to the smallest job.

When Should You Consider HPEs?

  • Are you experiencing major injuries within the first 6-12 months of hire?
  • Do employees quit because “it’s too hard?”
  • Do you have an aging workforce?
  • Are you finding your claims are lasting over 1 year?
  • Is there a high level of turnover?
